REGION I

RI-1  Paralegal Needed

Downtown lawfirm Paralegal position available in construction/transportation litigation area.  The job will be mainly working with Construction Litigation attorneys, but will fill in when needed for any Transportation overflow.  The job requires a paralegal certificate from an ABA accredited program (2 year or 4 year), and at least   4 - 5 years of working paralegal experience.

RI-2  Paralegals Needed

Birmingham law office is seeking an experienced, professional litigation paralegal with excellent organizational and oral/written communication skills.  Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment while working effectively as a team member. 

Requirements: Minimum of three years of work experience as a litigation paralegal.  Microsoft Office and related word processing software proficiency.  Trial Director and e-filing (state and federal) proficiency preferred.  Paralegal certification and/or a Bachelor degree preferred.  Competitive salary and excellent benefits.

RI-3   Litigation Paralegal (Birmingham Office)

Full-time litigation paralegal with experience in general litigation. This position will include working cases from inception through discovery and verdict, preparing for and assisting with arbitrations and various hearings, handling extensive client contact and case management (including preparing detailed case status reports), document management, investigation, drafting of pleadings, responding to requests for discovery, and all phases of arbitration and trial preparation and assisting during trial.

All applicants must have a four-year degree and an ABA paralegal certificate. We prefer a minimum of 4 years experience as a litigation paralegal and knowledge of Excel and Access. RI-4   Commercial Lending/Real Estate Paralegal (Birmingham Office)

Full-time experienced commercial lending/real estate paralegal. This position requires knowledge of title insurance commitments and surveys for commercial lending and real estate closings, review of title exceptions, assisting with the preparation of due diligence items, reviewing due diligence checklist and loan documents, research of UCC filings and corporate documents, preparing loan packages for clients, preparing loan document transcripts for all parties, preparing recordable documents for filing, general internet research, completing general post closing items, and overall support to commercial lending/real estate group.

Four-year degree and an ABA approved paralegal certificate preferred. We prefer a minimum of 3 years experience as a commercial lending/real estate paralegal. Resumes without GPA will not be considered.

RI-5  Paralegals Needed

Job Description

This position involves the organizing and processing of complex legal material (including contracts, regulatory filings, agreements, and letters of intent) and the research of background issues related to legal issues.  At the same time, the person in this position provides administrative support for two or more attorneys in the Legal Department with minimal or no supervision.
 
Required Skills

This position requires a minimum of ten years of relevant education/experience and superior office, administrative and organizational skills.  Must have superior Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access and the ability to learn and effectively use new software applications and internet based programs quickly.  Requires knowledge of document formats of a legal nature such as contracts, briefs, and closing documents.  Must understand technical legal terminology.  Must exhibit outstanding communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all levels within and outside of the Company. Written communications should exhibit good command of English and be grammatically sound.  Among other attributes, position specifically requires discretion, initiative, perseverance, ability to work on a team, ability to work quickly and under the pressure of multiple deadlines and the ability to manage conflicting priorities.  Exposure to highly confidential information and business matters requires the ability to maintain this information in the strictest of confidence


REGION II

 

RII-1  General Litigation Paralegal Needed

 

  • A person with good communication skills in speech, writing and the use of good grammar
  • Organized, diligent, conscientious and dedicated to team work and cordial working relationships with other staff members.
  • A person looking for a long term work home
  • Skilled in discovery practice in general tort cases with some complex business and governmental cases all from a defense standpoint. I have no problem with a paralegal who has worked for plaintiff's attorneys but all I handle are defense matters.
  • Qualified person assist other lawyers in the firm on a selected basis but supervising attorney will monitor workload to assure there is no overloading
  •  A keen sense of the need for confidentiality
  • Supervising Attorney will not request legal research from my paralegal    

Includes great benefit package. The individual portion of the BC/BS Health Insurance Premium is paid. Paid group disability and group life after 1 year.  A 401K for which a person is eligible after 1 year. RII-2  Paralegal/office manager Position

.Legal knowledge and experience is required; certification is a plus.  This position involves typical clerical and paralegal work, including drafting correspondence and legal documents; assisting in preparation for trial or arbitration; transcription of documents; filing documents in state and federal courts; performing computer research, and complete file maintenance.  The two attorneys primarily practice manufactured housing law, but also handle the creditor side of bankruptcy, replevin, and foreclosure.   

 Responsible for office management including paying local monthly bills; balancing checkbook; maintaining petty cash; maintaining office equipment, computers, and telephone system; maintaining office supplies; and submitting monthly logs for copies, faxes, and postage. 

 

RII-3  Paralegal

Paralegal opening for an office that that will be opening in March in Montgomery.  The preferred candidate will have an extensive knowledge of bankruptcy from the debtor's side and be familiar with handling all matters associated with a high volume debtor's bankruptcy practice.  
 
This will include the ability to manage and maintain a file from opening through the completion of a bankruptcy case.   This practice will also include a large volume of debtor's litigation against creditors so the ideal candidate would also have a thorough understanding of federal litigation practices.  ECF proficiency is a must both in the bankruptcy forum and the federal forum.

RII-4

Opening for an experienced Legal Assistant in Litigation group. The ideal candidate will have a BA/BS degree and an ABA approved paralegal certificate plus at least five years of litigation experience. Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, excellent references, be highly motivated and able to work well in a team environment.

REGION III

 

RIII-1  Paralegal Position

Downtown Mobile law firm has an opening for an experienced paralegal.  A minimum of 2 years relevant experience  along with good oral and written communications skills desired. College degree preferred. Applicants should be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.  Experience with trial software and efiling helpful.  Comes with competitive pay and benefits.

 

RIII-3  Paralegal Position

Experienced paralegal needed for small (two attorney) law firm in downtown Mobile.  Full-time position, 8:00-5:00 with occasional overtime.
